Wrestling is a physical competition between two sparring athletes who attempt to avoid getting injured by their competitor to the best of their ability.

Greco-Roman wrestling (French, former classical wrestling in the USSR): 

Both the Greco-Roman and free wrestling matches take place within a round nine-meter diameter wrestling area with a flat shock-absorbing mat. A match lasts for 2-3 rounds of 2 minutes each. The competitors wrestle in any available position using all legal moves (e.g. flips, throws, take downs, bringing down to ones’ knees, pins, twists, hooks) until the opponent’s shoulders are pinned down to the mat. If neither competitor can do this within the set time frame, the one who gets the most points for technique is announced the winner (no draws can occur since 1975).

The rules of Greco-Roman wrestling allow grappling the opponent from the head to the waist. 

Sportima wrestling wring is a perfect place for practicing Greco-Roman wrestling or Nhất Nam. The facility has special wrestling mats and a full set of exercise equipment for fitness training. Many athletes come to exercise here, including Lithuanian National Greco-Roman Wrestling Team, Lithuanian National Youth, Junior and Cadet Teams, Vilnius City sports schools and clubs and individual athletes.
